“Lend Me your Ear, Protect Your Heart.”
As a member of this sanctuary, I commit to the following principles of healing and restoration:
I will hold this circle in prayer, maintaining strict confidentiality and honoring the sacredness of our shared space.
I will use my writing to speak truth over lies, choosing words that build up rather than tear down.
I will daily declare that “ I am in control of my own emotional safety,” trusting in the spirit of power, love and sound judgement.
What is said in this circle stays in the circle. I will protect my brothers and sisters’ stories as fiercely as I protect my own.
I will practice radical active listening, I will offer my ear before my advice, honoring each person’s journey without judgment or interruption.
I recognize that I am the architect of my own life. I will respect the boundaries and timing of my brothers and sisters as we reclaim control over our emotional safety.
Healing is not a straight line. I will offer myself along with my sisters and brothers the “Grit” to keep going and the “Grace” to stumble, knowing that God is caring us through every season (Isaiah 46:4).
